🏛 語源・歴史
古英語 winnan（努力する・苦労する・戦う）に由来する。もとは「（苦労して）戦う・勝ち取る」が原義で、「努力して手に入れる」という核がある。だから win は「ただ勝つ」だけでなく「努力して獲得する（win support, win trust）」にも使える。winsome（愛きょうのある）にも「（心を）勝ち取る」の意味が残る。過去形 won は one と同音。
