Some people choose to work for companies that create environmentally friendly products and services. Do you think such people will increase in the future?
I agree with this opinion. I have two reaosns for this.
Reason 1First, people who work in these companies can expect to earn a steady income. Demand for environmentally friendly products is growing, and some companies are performing well.
Reason 2Second, people can take pride in their work. This is because working for a company that provides environmentally friendly products and services gives people the feeling that they can contribute to society.
SummaryTherefore, I think the number of people who choose to work for companies that create environmentally friendly products and services will increase in the future.
Structure ①: Conclusion
Start by clearly stating whether you agree or disagree.
・I agree with the opinion that ~
・I think that (people) should ~
・I do not agree that ~
Structure ②: Reason 1 & 2
This part is the most important for scoring.
It’s more important to write general ideas rather than personal opinions.
The Eiken writing questions often follow common topics and formats, so practicing by category will help you become familiar with them.
※Common Topics
・Environment
・(School) Life
・Education
・Travel
※Example structure for Reason① and Reason②:
Reason 1: Your idea + For example, give a specific example
Reason 2: Your idea + For instance, give a specific example
Structure ③: Summary
Finally, restate your opinion clearly.
・In conclusion, I agree with the opinion that ~
・As a summary, I think that (people) should ~
・In short, I do not agree that ~
Once you’ve learned the structure, start scoring!
You can practice with actual students' writing of the Eiken test here.
Summarizing means "to shorten and simplify!"
To effectively summarize long texts, follow these three key steps below!
The passage is usually divided into several paragraphs. Identify each paragraph's role: is it an Introduction, Opposition/Problem, or Conclusion/Suggestion?
When writing your summary, keep these roles in mind and summarize the key points from each section into a single paragraph.
Most paragraphs begin with a sentence that states the main idea, called the Topic Sentence!
Also, be on the lookout for important sentences following linking words like However or Therefore—these often contain the main point too!
If you can replace long expressions with simpler words or phrases, that's very good!
For example:
"People, regardless of their education or income," → can be replaced with → “All people”

Take this opportunity to practice effectively and get one step closer to passing your exam!
When you're unsure about the score, it's better to give a lower score along with specific feedback for improvement. Doing this helps students increase their chances of achieving a higher score next time.
It's rare to give a score of 0. To be safe, it's usually best to give at least 1 point.
Since Eiken scoring system is not revealed, it is impossible to give a perfect feedback. The point is to try your best to improve students' English proficiency.
Students are expected to make repeated mistakes. What’s important is to keep giving feedback patiently, over and over again.
If you're physically short on time, please use Eigo-Duke's correction tool. The AI will provide feedback with roughly ±20% accuracy.
If teachers give personal feedback once every five essays or so, students’ writing skills can improve significantly.
