英文法：一般動詞の疑問文

There is/areの基本
There is/areで「～がいます。」「～があります。」と、人や物の存在を表現する方法です。

練習：There is/areの基本
日本語	英語
「 そのテーブルの上に１つのリンゴがあります。 」	" There is " an apple on the table.
「 その店には自転車が2台あります。 」	" There are " two bicycles in the store.
「 その公園に女の子が一人います。 」	" There is " a girl in the park.
「 その公園に女の子が四人います。 」	" There are " four girls in the park.
「 私たちの町には図書館が１つあります。 」	" There is " a library in our town.
「 その店に何台かの自転車があります。 」	" There are " several bicycles in the store.
「 たくさんの動物たちがいます。 」	" There are " many animals.

1) There is /areの否定文
「～はありません。」「～はいません。」と否定する表現です。

ポイントbe動詞の否定文を作る時と同じ。is not, are notで表せる。短縮形のThere isn'tやThere aren'tもよく使われる。
例： There isn't a book on the chair. (机の上には本はありません）
※There is no ～ や There are no ～　も良く使われる否定の表現だ。

練習：There is/areの疑問文

「 その教室に生徒はいません。 」	There " are no " students in the class.
「 つくえの下に猫はいません。 」	There " is not " a cat under the desk.
「 その部屋の中に子供たちはいません。 」	There " aren't " children in the room.
「 そのいすの上に本はありません。 」	There are " no " books on the chair.

2) There is /areの疑問文
「～がいますか。」「～がありますか。」とたずねる表現です。

ポイントbe動詞の疑問文を作る時と同じ。be動詞を文章の最初に持ってくることで疑問文になる。
疑問詞を使う場合も同じ。WhenやWhereのすぐ後にbe動詞を付ける。

練習：There is/areの疑問文
日本語	英語
「 その机の上に1台のコンピューターがありますか？ 」 →はい。あります。	" Is " there a computer on the desk? Yes, there " is ".
「 そのいすの下に2匹の猫がいますか？ 」 いいえ。いません。	" Are " there two cats under the chair? No, there " are not ".
「 その部屋の中に子供たちはいますか？ 」 →いいえ。いません。	" Are there " children in the room? No, there aren't.
「 その机の上に何がありますか？ 」 →3冊の本があります。	" What " are there on the desk? →There are three books.

There is/areの書き換え

これだけは覚えようThere is ～. ／ There are ～. の文は、have(has) を使ってほぼ同じ意味の文に書き換えることができる。

練習をすれば、すぐになれることが出来るはずだ。
